Workshop Title / Marion Woodman Foundation Intensive, Mask workshop, phase 1

Facilitators / Marian Dunlea, Sue Congram, Sheila Langston

Date / June 8th – 15th

Venue / Dunderry Park, Navan, Co.Meath.

Workshop Description / In the midst of an evocative natural setting, we will engage in a depth process listening to the soul as it expresses itself in the body and in dream. The Irish landscape provides a powerful resonance
to mirror the soul’s journey. We will explore the psyche-soma connection
in a creative and playful spirit through dream embodiment, movement,
voice, mask, and artwork. Jungian psychology provides our map to the
dream world and the unconscious as we incorporate Marion Woodman’s
approach to redeeming the feminine.

This workshop stands alone or can constitute a phase one in the BodySoul Rhythms Leadership Training Programme of the Marion Woodman Foundation. Open to women with at least 50 hours Jungian
analysis/therapy and 50 hours active bodywork, or consent of instructor.

Dunderry Park in Navan, County Meath, is a completely restored 200 year-old Georgian residence. It is surrounded by 25 acres of wooded parkland in a peaceful country setting with lakeside and woodland walks. It is approximately 30 miles north of Dublin in the historic Boyne Valley, famous for the ancient Hill of Tara and the Paleolithic sites of New Grange, Knowth, and Lough Crew. At Boyne Valley the veil between the worlds is thin. We are among mounds, barrows, raths, standing stones, well, and ancient groves. This will be a magical time, so close to Tara, the story center of Ireland.

I believe in all that has never yet been spoken.
I want to free what waits within me
so that what no one has dared to wish for
may for once spring clear
without my contriving.

If this is arrogant, God, forgive me,
but this is what I need to say.
May what I do flow from me like a river,
no forcing and no holding back,
the way it is with children.

Then in these swelling and ebbing currents,
these deepening tides moving out, returning,
I will sing to you as no one ever has,
streaming through widening channels
into the open sea.

Workshop Description |  The Transformative Power of Myth

An Affiliated Programme to the Marion Woodman Foundation
(This programme is open to anyone who has completed three BodySoul Rhythms Intensives.)

Our focus will be to bring the energy of the work emerging in the modules thus far into form in terms of a personal myth.

‘Then…what is your myth- the myth in which you do live?’
C.G.Jung, Memories, Dreams and Reflections

Most of us are familiar with the deeply moving influences of a myth’s metaphors. However, there is an equally influential personal myth that guides and even impedes us, a myth that shapes and imprints itself upon our individual and individuating lives. Often begun in utero, its Ariadne thread weaves its way into the very fiber of our life story.

Bring any images, stories, objects that you are attracted to.

It usually comes after working with the body. The dream will bring it to you. A shift in sexuality. A wave of creativity, a welcoming of shadow.” Through gentle movement and voice work, we will be tracking our body’s energy lines, neural pathways, immune, gastrointestinal and lymphatic system, along side working with our dreams, images and art work. The body is attuned concentrated alive
Open, receptive, alert
Aware in the marrow
Of the harmony of the universe.
(Marion Woodman, Coming Home to Myself P.248. )

In this module we will explore our feminine consciousness, our presence to our sense of ourselves and our capacity to be in the fluid space that is interconnected to the external world. Image, body work and dreams – the language of the imaginal space are psyche’s way of bringing in the shadow, the unlived life what we are yet to become. How do we work alongside psyche and the fullness of image to embody the new possibilities that we are birthing in ourselves and in our work with groups We will work with the embodied images through dream voice breath art to help us to influence our movement forward into the world .

Coming from the depths of Winter – the flooding, cold and ice and beginning to feel the lengthing warming light of Spring, we will cooperate with this sap rising and so create our world birthing our images .

You must give birth to your images.
They are the future waiting be born.
Fear not the strangeness you feel.
The future must enter you
long before it happens
Just wait for the birth,
